Book Launch

Monday night had to be one of the most satisfying nights of my life. . .

When my book came out, I was honestly surprised at my overwhelming emotional reaction. I didn’t know what to do with myself–I was so happy, and yet felt rather strange. I felt like I was changed, that I was qualitatively different, but that no one else knew it.

I needed a ritual to help me through the transition and to bring my community with me in this change. So, when my husband and I began planning for the Book Launch and invited so many of YOU, I felt this Rite of Passage (publishing a book) could be complete.

So, I made a super-long but lovely video that highlighted photos from previous Woman Events:

(it’s long, but worth it!)

Prepared some yummy food. . .

And we celebrated!

Satisfied that it was true–I wrote a book worth reading and others agree. . .

Satisfied that I have great friends–students, colleagues, church family, friends new and old who support me. . .

Satisfied that we had paid attention to this important change and celebrated it with great joy. . .

Satisfied.

Many thanks to all those who came and made this evening deeply meaningful for me. Thanks for being part of the journey!

More video footage to come!
